I read some of the chapters with her and I must say, it's magic embraced me too - she loved it and so did I! It is a great book to start children thinking of their own values, their own powers and believe in themselves. I learned this a lot later in life. I have since given it as a gift to two further little girls who read it in no time at all and loved every minute of it! Buy it. You will offer someone a lot more than just a book.
Whatever way I look at it `The Magic Sunglasses' is a Fabulous book and concept., 3 Feb 2009 By Mr. N. Haines "Nicholas Haines" (UK) I was a school governor for 4 years at a large comprehensive in Nottingham, tough times for many kids, all based on low self esteem, self worth and not being allowed to be different. As a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, so much of the illness & emotional pain I try to help with is rooted in a childhood belief systems. Well done Auriel you ticked all the boxes with this book and website.

A breath of fresh air, 26 Jan 2009 By Anna Machtouba The Magic Sunglasses is so much more than a book! I bought this for my friend's daughter and she's still raving about it; she's even written a song about the book, printed off her personalised bookmark and started asking about dancing classes. The inspriational concept of the book really gets kids going and the storyline is so much fun - any parent will thank you for buying this for their child!
Magic Sunglasses - simply Magical, 26 Jan 2009 By Tom Evans "The Bookwright" (Surrey, UK) There are not many childrens' books that work on as many levels as this ... Angela - or should I say Auriel - has a natural talent for story telling and chidren will love it. This is one book that adults should read themselves, as well as to their children !!
Fantastic - a must-have for any child's book collection!, 26 Jan 2009 By L. K. Pretorius (England) The Magic Sunglasses does wonders for the imagination, taking the reader from the everyday world to that of The Great Chocolate Fantasy and the Witches' Wardrobe in a heartbeat. Samantha is a character who children can feel themselves 'bonding' with throughout the book and her adventures are second to none! The underlying message of self-worth is invaluable and should be communicated to children everywhere. The illustrations are just fantastic and add to the enjoyment of the book. Very highly recommended.
The Magic Sunglasses review by Fiona Rapson (10), 18 Jan 2009
My daughter (10) loved the magic sunglasses, 14 Jan 2009 A sort of modern-day Cinderella. Nice ideas inside the story, encouraging children to be happy with who they are and realise their own potential in life - something I think's important and want to help my daughter with. She's 10 and she loved the book, in fact she said it was just as good or better than Roald Dahl books which are her favourites.
Wonderful Message for our Children to Read, 12 Jan 2009 This book is a wonderful tale that provides powerful paradigms in a subtle manner for children to adopt. Children reading this book will be inspired to follow their dreams and discover that they are as worthy of success (however they choose to define it) as anybody else. We need more books like this. Books that encourage children to believe in themselves and cultivate internal self worth that isn't dependent on them looking, speaking, thinking or acting in the same way as everyone else. This is a great gift to give to those under 10's that you care most about. Having taught 100's of children of this age, I highly recommend this book.
